Wildside September 2011

Hey Wildside Band,

Here is the schedule of who is singing for the month of September. I won't be posting the songs because Isaac will be leading the band for the next few weeks and he will be in charge of choosing the songs. So here is who is singing:

Refuge, Wildside, Sunday Morning, and more...

Hey Band,

So here's who is playing tonight for Refuge:

Guitar: Brandon
Bass: Lili
Drums: Robby
Vocals: Alison

The set will be posted in my office at the church. Also, Refuge, next week is the Ultimate Showdown, so there will be no music that night. There will, however, still be a Band meeting on Monday. There were many of you who did not show up to last night's meeting and I will be talking with you about that to make sure that doesn't happen again. :)

Wildside, this week is our first outreach event, Survivor: Wildside, and there will be no music this week. So no band, and no Band meeting this week. The following week Isaac will start leading the Band for a few weeks and leading the Band meetings. Remember, you are expected to attend the 5:30 meetings even on weeks you are not playing.

Sunday morning, this Sunday most of the church will be away at Family Camp, so there is not going to be a youth service. There is only one church service at 10am this Sunday. If you are not at Family Camp, it would be nice to see everyone at that service. :)


Also, our first Youth Sunday of the school year is coming up on September 18. Talk to me for more information about that.

Refuge 8/22

Hey Refuge Band,

Thank you all for your commitment to the Band and for checking the blog regularly. As I said in an earlier post, tonight is the first Refuge Band meeting! We will be meeting from 5 to 6 pm at the church regularly on Monday nights from this point forward.

Just a reminder, this meeting is for everyone. If you will not be able to make any of these meetings you have to in some way notify me beforehand. Because this is the very first meeting like this, I will be more lenient on this if some of you forget to come.

Also, be sure to bring your binders to these meetings. We will be using them.

Hey Wildside Band,

As I mentioned earlier, tonight will be an acoustic set with just guitar and vocals. We are not going to do an opening song for the night, so we will just have the first set of 2 songs and the second set after the message of 1 song.

Also, the first Band Meeting is tonight. If you guys don't remember, everyone is expected to attend these meetings, whether it is their night to play or not. This is the first one, so I will be lenient if not everyone is there, but I hope to see that all of you have been reading this blog and know that the meetings start tonight at 5:30.

Also, our band meetings are finally going to start as the interviews are coming to a close. For Refuge, our first band meeting will be next Monday, August 22. For Wildside, we will have our first meeting this Thursday, August 18. I can't wait to see how we all grow this year through these meetings.

Hey Band,

Wildside tonight is going to feature Robby on drums and Isaac's friend, Jacob, on bass. The band will be:

As you can see, that will be a night of the key of A. I didn't plan it that way, but all of the songs have a different feel, so staying in the same key shouldn't be that big of an issue. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you, everyone.

Rough Start

Hey Band,

I apologize for the difficulties we've had so far with the schedules. Because I am still interviewing people I haven't been able to nail down exactly how the schedule is going to be so for this first month it will continue to be a bit squishy and we will just have to work together to get everything figured out (at least until everyone is interviewed. Then we can get back into some normalcy).

For tomorrow here is the band line up:

Small band, but we will be playing with a lot of energy and it will be great. I will be interviewing mostly everyone who hasn't been interviewed this week so things will get a bit easier.
